Aiden Newberg

Aiden was diagnosed with leukemia on November 1, 2018. He was 6 years old and in kindergarten when he was diagnosed. He has had a few roadblocks along the way which have resolved, such as high blood pressure and steroid induced Type 1 diabetes. He also struggles with leg muscle issues, which causes foot drop and toe walking, and has neuropathy from the chemo. Aiden is in remission and is currently in the maintenance stage of treatment. He will continue maintenance treatment until January of 2022.

Through it all, Aiden has stayed positive and upbeat. He constantly amazes his doctors at his willingness to roll with the punches and smile through it all. He is a jokester, likes to play video games or play outside with friends, and is currently playing soccer. Although his diagnosis turned our world upside down, we have become a stronger family and feel blessed by the amazing support from our family, friends and community, and more so by the outstanding care and compassion we receive at Riley.
