What is the Ball State Dance Marathon?

Ball State University is one of 150 colleges and high schools around the country to host a dance marathon for a Children’s Miracle Network hospital. Our marathon originally started as a philanthropic event hosted by Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity and Phi Mu Fraternity, and went on for nine consecutive years.

In 2008, Ball State Dance Marathon became a campus-wide student organization, and has since raised over $25,000 in just the past two years of being so.

At our marathon, dancers spend the twelve hours dancing, watching concerts and performances, playing games, and best of all, hearing families from Riley Hospital for Children tell their stories. Money is raised through a letter writing campaign and through corporate donors. All money raised is donated directly to Riley, specifically, to the Magic Castle Cart, which goes to every room in Riley to give children gifts during their stay at Riley.

Riley Hospital for Children is committed to providing world-class treatment regardless of a family's financial means, and we support that 100%. Our motto, “Where U Can Make A Difference,” sums up the spirit of Dance Marathon. U are given the opportunity to make a difference in the life of a child.
